Parade form due tomorrow! And we need parent Chaperons!

Dear Parents/Guardians: 

As shown on the EMS Band Events Calendar sent home the first day of school, the 
Washington’s Birthday Festival on March 1st is quickly approaching. The Eustis Middle 
School Band will be participating in the parade for this event. For student safety 
approximately 20 chaperones are necessary to ride the buses and accompany the band 
during the parade. Lack of a sufficient number of chaperons creates a safety issue and will 
necessitate cancellation of this important community event. If you are interested in keeping 
our children safe, please return the appropriate page. The Parade begins at 
10:00am, travels north on Bay Street, and ends at the Eustis Community Building.

As a performance-oriented activity, attendance is required for this performance. The 
required dress code for the parade will be the gold band shirt, black dress pants, black 
socks that cover the ankles, and all black shoes. No jeans, shorts, or tennis shoes please. 

I would like all students to ride the buses from the Eustis Middle School Campus to the 
parade. Students will meet at the EMS Band Room at 8:00 AM on 3.1.2014. The buses 
will leave when attendance is complete. Students may be released after the parade by 
turning in page 3. Only original release forms will be accepted. This form should be 
signed and returned on or before Wednesday, February 26th. Please clarify your meeting 
arrangements with your child! 

Concerning Release 
No hand written notes please. 
No special arrangements will be made. Pick up your child at EMS at 11:00 if there is a 
concern. 

ATTENTION! 
All students without an advance release form ARE REQUIRED to return on the bus to 
EMS for pick up. The buses return to the school IMMEDIATELY after THE BAND IS 
DONE MARCHING! The buses do not wait until the end of the parade. Please make 
arrangements to have your child picked up at the school by 11:00am! Parents please 
WAIT if the buses are delayed. Students without a ride by 11:15 will not be allowed to 
attend future field trips.
